Here I am by Maina Ann Njeri

Staring at the moon,
From this dark room,
Waiting for this kind of light,
To brighten up my life.

It’s okay not to be okay,
Life happens so we say,
Painful as it is,
I have to get through it.

Will crying be in vain?
Or will help end the pain,
Lest l lose my mind,
And send me on ground.

Not choosing to change,
Is surrendering to fate,
Let life flow,
Go get your glow.

I need to get back up,
Broken hearts suck,
It’s not a matter of luck,
Let no one say I’m stuck.
