The Invader By Shera Muthoni

The Invader By Shera Muthoni

I was okay,

Very okay,

Until my dream of you woke up with me.

I was okay,

Very okay,

Until my morning coffee sweetened,

Alongside thoughts of you.

I was okay,

Very okay,

Until my phone stuck on my hand,

Feeding on your every word.

I was okay,

Very okay,

Until I heard that love song,

My heart played with it.

I was okay,

Very okay,

Until that couple walked in front of me,

They held hands, I felt me hold yours.

I was okay,

Very okay,

Until I saw that house, that homely house,

We would be truly happy.
